Join us for a challenging climb up the 79 Grind Trail in Mission Municipal Forest. Often compared to a quieter version of the Grouse Grind, this steep trail quickly gains elevation and rewards hikers with sweeping views at the Rolley Peak Lookout and the 79 Grind Viewing Platform.
The hike is 5.5 km out-and-back with 556 m of elevation gain, making it a solid workout with an incredible payoff at the top. Along the way, there are scenic forest sections, creek views, and an optional short detour to a small waterfall early in the hike.
The summit lookout platform, built in 2022, offers stunning views of Stave Lake and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Trail conditions can be steep, muddy, and slippery, so please wear proper hiking footwear and bring plenty of water.
