Black Mountain & Eagle Bluffs Hiking Club

  • Cypress Creek Lodge 6000 Cypress Bowl Road West Vancouver, BC, V7V 3N9 Canada (map)

Join us for a crisp fall-to-winter transition hike to Eagle Bluffs, a moderate 8 km out-and-back trail with 437 m elevation gain in Cypress Provincial Park. The route starts with a steep climb up wooden stairs beside the ski runs, then winds through beautiful subalpine forest past Cabin and Yew Lakes before arriving at the panoramic Eagle Bluff viewpoint. From here, you’ll get incredible views of Lighthouse Park, Horseshoe Bay, and even Point Grey on a clear day.

By early November, winter conditions are likely — the area can receive early snowfall, and the trail may be icy or snow-covered. Please come prepared for cold weather, and bring microspikes or crampons, and snowshoes if there has been significant snow. Layers, gloves, and a thermos of something warm are highly recommended!

We’ll meet at Cypress Creek Lodge (near the main ski resort parking lot), where there are washrooms and a warming area before we hit the trail.

After the hike, we’ll head into town for a warm bowl of ramen to refuel and shake off the mountain chill — optional but you know you want to.
